Retired firefighter JFRD

Retired Firefighter/E.M.T Jacksonville, Florida with 22 years of service. Prior to joining the JFRD, Ms. Butler was an L.P.N. Specializing in Mental Health and now doing telephone triage for Baptist Primary Care.

· Ms. Butler received her education at Florida Community College.

· As a firefighter she was an instructor at the Training Academy teaching new recruits minimum standards, and was part of Department’s Safety Committee. Her last position was Logistics Officer responsible for purchasing safety and station wear for the Department.

· Ms. Butler has been a member of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters for over 20 years and chairperson of its Health and Safety Committee, responsible for facilitating workshops at conventions and conferences some being , Hepatitis-C , Crisis Intervention and the First Responder, and HIV Awareness.

· Ms Butler is the mother of three children and two grandchildren.
