Biography


M.Anderson 


Melanie has completed a full career with the Peoria Fire Department from 1983 through 2012.  Attaining the ranks and positions of Engineer, Captain, Training Supervisor, Battalion Chief of Special Operations, and Division Chief of Fire Prevention.

 

Education

Associate Degree in Fire Science from Illinois Central College

Bachelor Degree in Public Safety Management from Franklin University

2011 graduate of Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute

 

Community involvement

Mentoring high school students in ELITE program

Member of recruitment committee, special operations committee, EMS committee for City of Peoria

Participated in career fairs, fire safety presentations, Fire Marshal activities

 

Member of the IABPFF since 1984.

Previous position held since 2011 of Financial Secretary.  Previous positions held include; NCR 1st Vice Director, NCR Treasurer, NCR Recording Secretary, AAFFP Secretary, AAFFP Treasurer

 

Family includes daughters Michelle and Alexis and 4 grandchildren

 

After relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada, Melanie completed criteria for a Nevada Teachers license and is currently employed by Clark County School District.
